Description

Antique 3-tine carbon steel fork w/ wooden handle fork and four brass rivets Found in a family member's estate, there is no known history about this fork. It appears to be an example of a common Americana eating utensil used during the second half of the 1800s - early1900s. In good condition, t he discoloration of the metal and worn handle the fork certainly appears to be authentic . The carbon steel fork measures approximately 6 1/3". The metal runs the full-length of the fork with a binder securing two (2) wooden handle pieces fastened with four (4) rivets. The top wooden handle is lifted every so slightly from the metal at the base. Verdigris tarnish is evident on one (1) of the top side rivets and all four (4) of the underside rivets. There is a crack running above and below the lower left front side rivet. The three (3) tines are quite sharp with the left prong/tine showing slight wear. Please study the photographs to see the details described. Questions welcomed.
